Singapore Pricing Guide · 2026

How much does marble polishing cost in Singapore?

Marble polishing in Singapore is usually priced per square foot, and published rates across the market generally range from around S$1 to S$5 psf — a wide band, because "polishing" can mean anything from a quick surface buff to a full diamond grind-and-restore. Here is how to read a quote properly.

Polished marble restored to a mirror finish

Typical price ranges in the Singapore market

As a general guide to what providers across Singapore publish: a light re-polish of stone in fair condition tends to sit at the lower end of the S$1–S$5 per-square-foot band, while full restoration — diamond grinding to remove lippage and deep wear, then honing, crystallisation and sealing — sits at the upper end. Most firms also apply a minimum job charge, commonly a few hundred dollars, so small areas cost more per foot. A typical 1,000 sq ft residential floor therefore lands anywhere from several hundred dollars for a maintenance polish to a few thousand for a full restoration.

What actually drives the price

Five things move a stone quote: the stone itself (marble, travertine and limestone behave differently from granite or terrazzo), its condition (etching, staining, scratches, lippage between tiles), the finish you want (matte hone versus mirror crystallisation), the area and access (furniture moving, upper floors, overnight scheduling), and whether sealing and protection are included or quoted as extras. A per-square-foot number quoted blind over the phone can't account for any of these — which is why it so often changes on the day.

Why the cheapest quote is usually the dearest

A surface buff over etched or worn marble produces a shine that fades within weeks, because the damage sits deeper than the polish. Proper restoration takes the stone down to sound material first, then rebuilds the finish. Brigade has restored stone in Singapore since 1986 — it is the craft the company was founded on — and we quote only after seeing the stone: a fixed, itemised price for the work your floor actually needs, no more.

A note on these figures. Ranges above describe typical published rates across the Singapore market and are orientation only — they are not Brigade's prices. Brigade quotes each job fixed and itemised after a complimentary assessment, so you know the exact price before any work begins.

Frequently asked

How much does marble polishing cost per square foot in Singapore?

Published rates across the Singapore market generally range from about S$1 to S$5 per square foot — light re-polishing at the lower end, full grinding and restoration at the upper end — usually with a minimum job charge. The stone, its condition and the finish required determine where a job falls, which is why a fixed quote after an assessment is more reliable than a blanket rate.

Is marble restoration worth it compared with replacing the floor?

Almost always. Restoring existing marble typically costs a small fraction of ripping out and re-laying stone, and a properly ground, polished and sealed floor performs like new. Replacement only makes sense when tiles are cracked through or hollow.

How often should marble floors be polished?

A residential marble floor in normal use typically needs professional attention every one to two years, with full restoration far less often if the floor is sealed and maintained correctly. High-traffic lobbies need more frequent care.

How does Brigade price marble polishing?

Brigade is quote-only: we assess the stone (on-site or by photos), then confirm a fixed, itemised quotation for exactly the stage of work the floor needs — from maintenance polish to full restoration with sealing. The assessment is complimentary.
